Dear Members,
I’m hoping this will be our last update on Covid related restrictions and how we as a Club will move forward to ensure a safe, sensible and relaxed environment for all. From the 19th July;
- We will stop GymSync bookings for the Gym, Sauna & Steam room however we will monitor usage and membership numbers to regulate footfall.
- All classes will have a maximum capacity of 16, pre-covid there were 24.
- The swimming pool will have a mixture of ‘swimming’ slots, family time and non-booking periods. For keen lane swimmers restricting the numbers to 4 guarantees plenty of space to swim. GymSync will be updated to indicate the sessions. A reminder, please cancel any booked swim sessions you can no longer attend – we are regularly finding we have spaces in the pool which is extremely frustrating when other members are waiting to book.
- We will be guided by the Government for face mask use. If, as expected, it is no longer a legal requirement to wear a face mask in a public area will not expect members to wear one. However it is personal choice and equally understand those that will continue to wear one.
- There is much debate about the Covid Vaccine, again, it is personal choice, but we’d rather any debate be left outside of Abshot.
- Some of the gym equipment will no longer be closed off or at a 2 meter distance; we would like our members to respect each other with space and hygiene. Please choose to use a piece of equipment allowing sensible distance.
The emphasis of this update is to respect each other with space, with hygiene and should discussion occur, about Covid. As most of us have been affected one way or another, respect each other’s thoughts and enjoy being able to exercise & socialise.
I would also like to add, the team of staff at Abshot are not experts on Covid, we have made decisions throughout the pandemic, by following Government Guidance, local legislation and a touch of common sense! We will continue to adapt and evolve as Abshot always has done.
My sincere thanks to the members that have returned, the new that have joined and those that have supported us throughout, and of course to the Staff & Instructors that had faith in our reopening.
As always please keep a check on the ‘News’ section of our website and our Facebook page for Information and News.
Regards
