Couch to 5K update – Week 8 !!
We have now completed Week 8 of the C25K course. It has been an incredible 8 weeks, and I am honoured to have been a part of it.There was reason to celebrate this week as Clare completed her first 5k, and due to kids on bikes and road works, she over shot it by an additional 0.75k. It just goes to show this course is designed to give you the tools you need to succeed. Clare has completed every single run with her two primary aged children by her side. Any parent will know how hard this will have been and what an incredible achievement this is.
It would be incredibly unfair to not mention Stewart. Stewart casually slid it into conversation circa week three, that he had completed his 5k run, there was a big pause of silence before the group burst into a fit of laughter. Stewart has been a wonderful member of the group, always bringing positivity and humour to our weekly calls and I know he is thoroughly enjoying getting some miles under his feet. We promise not to mention the incident with the shoe lace and the concrete wall.
The rest of the group continue to make excellent progress. Each week gets progressively harder, and they continue to cross off the runs with a huge sense of personal achievement. I look forward to continuing to support them and reporting back to you their progress.
I am pleased to confirm, that with restrictions lifting slightly on the 29th March, we are able to hold our socially distanced Graduation Run. The medals have arrived and we are ready to celebrate.
Sunday 7th see’s the start of our second and final lockdown Couch to 5k Course. We have 5 people ready and are raring to go. If you would like to join the course or you have started your own running journey and would like some additional support then please get in touch with me at amysnellpt@gmail.com.
